Supporting structures for handling equipment

To a large extent the type of supporting structure used in handling equipment depends on the function and the support spacing distance required.

For support spacing distances up to 12 m, self-supporting framework trusses can be used.

For support spacing distances up to 25 m, the continuous girder bridge made of IPE profiles is a suitable and convenient solution.

If the support spacing distance exceeds 25 m, conventional framework bridges like those used in railway construction are a practical option.

For very large support spacing distances up to 76 m, the possibilities of using an air-supported belt conveyor should be considered.
